PingReports is built by System and Site Reliability Engineers with decades of experience running large-scale infrastructures — long enough to have watched the usual monitoring tools come and go. The goal here is a simple, fun-to-use monitoring system, not yet another would-be replacement for your existing stack.
PingReports has been in development for more than a decade. It first shipped in 2014 as an internal tool with a worldwide probe fleet, backed by a TokuMX fork of MongoDB processing tens of thousands of metrics per second. (Yes, it looked exactly like 2014 — please don't judge.) It quietly replaced several legacy monitoring systems behind the scenes, was used heavily — but only internally — for years, and eventually got mostly forgotten.
So we revamped it from the ground up. Out went the Java services and aging time-series tech; in came a fully Kubernetes-native deployment with modern queue and cache layers and a data store built for billions of rows and massive parallel processing.
Pugs are good-hearted, dumbly devoted little characters who'll watch over you (and the treats) all day long. We just love pugs. So let Gizmo, our pug, watch over your services. (Treats welcome.)

Sixty seconds. No credit card. Probably more candid honesty about your stack than your monitoring vendor has shown you all year.
